Fire is a flashy and lively horse with all of the moves to get him noticed. His assertive and confident personality puts him front and center and you’ll often see Erika riding him when she’s not on Maxie. He is responsive and sensitive, but not reactive and capable of anything we put in front of him. His initial foundation in arena work is evident and his capability on trail endless.

“Scotch”

Scotch is a bubbly little squirt. She’s adorable and sweet with a mind of her own and enough personality to fill the whole barn. Calm and unwavering, Scotch can conquer anything. She loves working with children and adults equally and never fails to surprise us.

Scotch is gave birth to a gorgeous palomino red dun foal in June 2010 by JKGS Awesome Desmond named Double Awesome Pixie Dust, now owned by Katie Steigerwalt.

“Dozer”

Dozer is suave and sweet, but often lazy and always hungry. But don’t let his peaceful speed deceive you; slow does not mean lacking gumption. He has a huge personality that completely consumes you and leaves you wanting more. Dozer does phenomenal work with first time riders and riders with disabilities. He has infinite patience and smooth and comfortable gaits. If you are riding Dozer, you have nothing to worry about!

“Bear”

Bear is a thoughtful and responsible thoroughbred gelding. In the arena he is reliable and forgiving, giving students the best lesson possible. He jumps beautifully and is steadfast on trail and hunter pace courses.

Unfortunately two weeks after his arrival, Bear came in from the pasture with a compression fracture in the splint bone of his hind left leg, earning him his name. With the x-rays and exams from the Cornell University Equine Hospital, he is now well on his way to recovery and we hope to have him back to riding by early next year.

“Dutchess”

Dutchess is our Alpha mare. As a result she likes to either be in the very front leading the way or in the very back making sure no horse is left behind. She doesn’t take any funny business and doesn’t give any back. She just loves going on long trail rides. You’ll notice that before each trail ride she get’s a bit antsy – she’s just ready to get to work! And once she gets underway she settles down into pace and can go all day.

Dutch is also a fantastic and willing lesson horse, teaching children and adults how to ride beautifully in both English and Western styles.
